Amiga tablets are made for folks who prefer nostalgia over features. The company that owns the famous brand is now selling an array of Android-based tablets, one of which has been announced recently. It’s called Amiga Xpedio 7MTB and it’s made for folks who don’t want to spend a small fortune on their tablet purchase. Quite the contrary, this baby is available for $98 or $118 with the USB keyboard/case accessory.
Needless to say, you shouldn’t expect iPad-like specs from the Xpedio 7MTB. It comes with a 720Mhz processor, 7-inch screen, Wi-Fi connectivity support, 4GB of built-in storage, while Android 2.2 Froyo is running the show.
Despite my love for the Amiga brand, I can’t recommend the Xpedio 7MTB. Heck I can’t recommend any of Amiga tablets – simply put there are better options out there. Still if you want to check out all Amiga devices, you can do that from this page.
Finally in case you wonder – Amiga emulator DOESN’T come preloaded with any Amiga-branded tablet. If I were at the company that owns that brand, I would push for development of the Android skin/theme that mimics the Workbench. Now that would be something. 😉
