Panasonic today announced the latest addition to its rugged line of handheld devices called the Toughpad. The Toughpad includes two versions: a 10-inch and 7-inch model and both are powered by Android. The device will carry an app store, peripherals, developer tools, deployment support and you’ll be able to beat the crap out of it.

Other noteworthy specs on the Panasonic Toughpad A1 include the following:

OS: Android™ 3.2 (Honeycomb)
Processor: Marvell 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor
Storage: 16GB
Optional Storage: MicroSD optional up to 32GB
RAM: 1GB LP-DDR2
Display: 500 nit, daylight readable,10.1? XGA (4:3),
Battery Life: 10 hours (serviceable battery)

This is one serious device that will play perfectly with those who are prone to breaking their gadgets with the slightest of ease. It’s pretty cool that Panasonic is offering the latest from Honeycomb (3.2), but it’ll be interesting to see if this bad boy gets the update to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 when it begins to roll out. The Panasonic Toughpad A1 will be available from Spring 2012 with a price tag of $1299 where as more information about B1 will be released soon as the tablet will be available in the later part of 2012.
