Who says the kids can’t get into the Android fun? It turns out that Toys R Us and app developer FUHU, known for its kid-friendly Fooz Kids edutainment applications, has joined forces to offer an affordable Android tablet for children and adults. The Nabi Tablet is a fun and educational tablet featuring a custom  user interface on top of Android that allows for kids to browse the web, watch videos, read books and learn.

Now before you completely dismiss this tablet know this, the Nabi sports some pretty decent specs, which include:

  • 7-inch 800×480 resolution display
  • 533MHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor with PowerVR SGX530 GPU for 3D gaming
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • 3,000 mAh battery for up to 5 hours of non-stop gaming
  • Front-facing camera
  • 1080p HD video playback (yes, you heard right!)

Wait there’s more, the slate comes with its own custom Nabi App Store featuring over 500 apps for your child to download. Also, with 30 creative apps, 30 e-book/interactive apps and lastly access to Fooz Kids University which holds over 22,000 standardized math problems.

This sounds like a kick-ass Android tablet for your kid; hats off to the folks over at FUHU for actually taking the time to put some thought into developing such an awesome treat for the “kiddies.” The Nabi Tablet can be pre-ordered right now from Toys R Us for $200 with an estimated ship date of December 1st, which is just in time for the holidays.
