AT&T didn’t really make a big deal about the Samsung Captivate Glide but the Android phone is packed full of power and its full, slide-out keyboard may make it a compelling device this holiday season.
The Samsung Captivate Glide sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with an 800 x 400 resolution and the screen is pretty bright and vivid, even if it’s not as good as the top-of-the-line devices like the Rezound or even the iPhone’s Retina Display. This takes up most of the face but there are also the four standard Android buttons.
The form factor is likely the most appealing feature of the Samsung Captivate Glide, as this device has a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard in a relatively thin package. Compared to the Samsung Stratosphere, the Captivate Glide is downright thin. Unfortunately, I wasn’t in love with this phone’s keyboard, as it’s well-spaced out but the keys are barely raised, so typing isn’t a wonderful experience. You can get used to it but I would have preferred a little more travel back.
Even though many will likely consider this a mid-tier device, the Samsung Captivate Glide has a dual-core processor, GPS, AT&T “4G,” Bluetooth and an 8-megapixel camera with a flash. We’ll have a full review up for you in the next few days, so in the meanwhile, check out the photos below and let us know what you think.
