Developers can already use a number of third-party SDKs to integrate such things as maps, ads, videos and so on into their apps. How about ticket sales? That’s now possible as well thanks to the new SDK from the online ticketing marketplace Seatwave.
The functionality provides developers with a new way to monetize their apps, without the need for banner ads, making for a much better experience (as far as I’m concerned). The problem, however, is that not every app is suited to offer tickets. Music-based apps work perfectly and so does those dealing with sport. Moreover, location-based services could also provide its users with nearby events with the option to buy tickets right from within the application.
Interested developers can check out Seatwave’s dedicated developer portal from where they can also check out a number of launch partner apps.
Final note, if you happen to make some cool app that integrates the capability, make sure to send us an email – we may be interested to check it out and let our readers know what you’ve come up with. 😉
