Myriad unveiled what it calls the “latest chapter of Myriad Alien Dalvik” – Myriad Alien Vue. The new technology is made to bring Internet access to TV, allowing Android apps to run alongside existing television functions in a “unified user experience.”
It is a complete end-to-end solution that enables TV service providers to add apps to their existing managed service offerings, and eventually compete with over-the-top content distribution channels from Apple, Google and others.
The software works with existing TV and set-top box equipment and includes an app store developed in conjunction with AppCarousel that can be fully branded by service providers. It also supports additional plug-in components like Myriad Connect & Share to provide multi-screen functionality for personal and premium content. Moreover, it works with mobile phones and tablets, while also allowing folks to run HTML5 and Google TV apps… You can check out how all this comes together from the short demo video below. Enjoy!
