CES 2012: Razer teases its ‘Project Fiona’ gaming tablet; mocks Apple in the process

CES 2012 is just a few short days away, but already news is starting to come out of the show before it even officially starts. Today’s bit of news is a teaser of an upcoming gaming tablet called “Project Fiona” from multi-platform peripheral and gaming laptop manufacturer, Razer.

The teaser video states Project Fiona isn’t simple, delightful, or magical. Instead, it’s “just badass.” Then the video proceeds to show some footage from Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2, and Firefall and declares this tablet will bring PC gaming to a new form factor. The simple, delightful, or magical portion of the video is an obvious jab at Apple’s iOS products, which Project Fiona is setting its sights on.

Very little information is known at this time in regards to the tablet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a quad-core device, especially if that quad-core chip is a Tegra 3 seeing as Razer has an ongoing partnership with NVIDIA. The video does give a form of a tablet towards the end of it, which we could assume is what Project Fiona will look like. As for the OS that’ll run on Project Fiona, it’s pure speculation, but I’d have to guess it’ll be an Android device. Either way, I’m super intrigued to hear more about Project Fiona next week.
