Good news for die hard MeeGo fans in the UK – the only commercially available MeeGo smartphone, Nokia N9, is now available for 349.99 GBP through Expansys. That money gets you a 16GB model in magenta, while its black counterpart is 15 GBP more expensive.
Now I must add that 350 GBP (about $539) still makes N9 pretty expensive, considering its hardware, which includes a single-core processor clocking at 1GHz, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 3.9-inch WVGA touchscreen, GPS, NFC capability and so on.
All in all, the N9 is well-built product. However, the fact that it runs MeeGo doesn’t help a lot. Don’t get me wrong – I love the new UI, but there are not that many apps available for the platform (to say the least). Because of that we can’t really recommend anyone to grab the N9.
Then again, if the number of apps isn’t your concern – go for it. Click here to check out Expansys’ offering and take it from there.
