Morgan Stanley: iPhone 5 to be slimmer, include 3G and 4G LTE

Since 2006, we’ve come accustomed to the usual Apple iPhone rumors as the new year rolls in. Well, the latest “report” claims the Cupertino-based company’s next-generation iPhone will be slimmer than the current iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models. This has been talked about for months as many have suggested a new redesign of the handset would launch in the Fall of 2011, which we later found not to be the case. Now, rumor has it,  the upcoming iPhone 5 will sport a quad-mode chipset that will work across all 3G and 4G LTE networks, which might explain why T-Mobile’s CFO believes it’ll support the AWS band.

Recently, a Morgan Stanley analyst by the name of Katy Huberty chimed in on the swirling speculation, saying “Apple’s business will continue to grow despite slowing demand high-end smartphone market.” Also adding “Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5 will feature a new slimmer case.” Huberty believes the next iPhone will feature a new quad-mode chip from Qualcomm that could allow it to operate on all 3G and 4G LTE networks.

That said, like every report, rumor, or sources “familiar with the matter,” we have to take this with a grain of salt at least until more concrete evidence is revealed.

Would you like the next iPhone to carry support for all 3G and 4G LTE networks?
