Popular travel management service TripIt used CES to unveil its Android application for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus though I’m sure pretty much any Android tablet will do the job just as well.
As expected, TripIt for tablets takes advantage of the extra screen estate, allowing you for instance to view a list of all trips in both landscape and portrait mode, alongside a single itinerary overview. Similarly, you can dive into details like confirmation numbers or seat assignments, while maintaining an eye on the full trip schedule.
Moreover, there’s the option to dynamically view and navigate maps directly from the itinerary. In other words, as soon you select a flight, the airport location will light up on the map, and you can choose to get directions.
Aside from this new “optimized for Android tablets” version, the TripIt app is also available for other mobile platforms including iOS, Android (smartphones) and Windows Phone.
