Hands-on: Bricson Color Shield for iPhone 4 / 4S; Colorize & protect your iPhone

White or Black. That’s currently the only two color options if you want to pick up an iPhone 4 or 4S for yourself. If you’re someone who likes to add a little pizazz to your phone, but don’t want to rely on a case, then Bricson’s Color Shields might be what you’ve been looking for.

The first thing I noticed when I received my Green Color Shield for review is how simple the company makes it to install it onto your device. Yes, you’ll have to peel the color shield away in order to stick it onto your phone, but Bricson includes small pieces of tape that are used to hold the cover in place while you peel away its plastic so it’ll stick to your phone. This ensures even the people who are terrible at installing covers onto their phone, myself included, can get great looking coverage with minimal bubbling or overlapping of key points on the phone.

Once the color shield is installed, you’ll need to run the included silicone squeegee in order to work out any bubbles that may have formed when covering the device. If any dust particles happened to make it under the color shield during installation, Bricson also includes additional tape to raise the color shield and remove any particles trapped under the cover.

Bricson’s Color Shields are also HD films that are Retina Display compatible and provide anti-glare, anti-fingerprint, and anti-smudge, which I certainly enjoy since my fingerprints ooze oil and dirty every minute of the day. Keep that in mind the next time you attempt to high-five me at an event or out in public. The company’s website says multiple colors are available, but right now it looks like only Lime Green, Juicy Pink, and Pearl White are available for purchase.

Overall, I certainly have enjoyed adding a touch of color to my iPhone, while at the same time protecting it from scratches and my insanely oily fingertips. When you consider Bricson’s Color Shields not only cover the front and back of your iPhone, but also add color to it, then I could easily recommend its $24.99 price point. And seeing as you’re an IntoMobile reader, Bricson will gladly update the shipping of your color shield from USPS First Class to USPS Priority Mail that includes a tracking number and faster shipping. All you need to do is enter “INTOMOBILE” in the comments section of your order, but make sure to keep USPS First Class checked to receive your free shipping upgrade.
