Popular media discovery app Shazam is about to get even better, at least for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphones, which will get the NFC-based Android Beam capability. As a result, Shazamers will be able to hold their devices back-to-back with that of their friends to share their favorite music, merchant offers and television tags.
If your friend, however, doesn’t have the Shazam app, they will be introduced to the Android Market to get it. The new capability is scheduled to be live in the Shazam App as part of a major update within the coming weeks.
Alongside announcing support for Android Beam, Shazam also reminded us that its Android app has recently got Faster tagging. Now, songs, television adverts and other content can be identified in as little as one second. The speed enhancements will be rolled out on all major platforms in the coming weeks.
To get Shazam on your smartphone, search for it in the app store of choice.
