Apple is all set to official unveil the iPad 3 next week. The Verge and other publications just received an invitation to the announcement event, which will take place on March 7th at 10am PST in San Francisco. The iPad 3 is widely expected to be a huge leap forward for Apple, with significant hardware improvements over the iPad 2.
The rumored specs:
- Either an A5X (dual-core) or A6 (quad-core) processor
- 4G LTE capability
- 2,048 x 1,560 pixel display, likely the first iPad to feature a Retina Display
- 8 megapixel camera
- iOS 5.1
- Larger Battery
- More storage options (perhaps up to 128 GB)
- Possible Price Increase
We expect the rumor mill to heat up before next week’s announcement. Regardless of what the iPad 3’s final specs turn out to be, it will likely be a strong performer for Apple. We’ll working on scoring an invite of our own, and will hopefully be on hand at the event to bring you the goods on the next generation of iPad.
