Tiny Tower developer Nimblebit working on Pocket Planes

Nimblebit’s Tiny Tower has received critical acclaim by mostly everyone who has played the game and was even a featured title on the App Store a number of times, but the company can only build their success tower so high before they need to move on to their next project. The Game’s Developer Conference was held in San Francisco this week, and that’s where Nimblebit decided to discuss plans for their next game, Pocket Planes.

Pocket Planes is said to be a less casual game than Tiny Tower and be more of a mash-up between a time management and strategy title as your tasked with creating their own airline in order to transfer people and cargo from point A to point B. You’ll be able to earn or in-app purchase in-game currency which can be used to upgrade their fleet of planes that have varying attributes such as flight speed, capacity and travel distance. Nimblebit promises there will be a number of ways to earn in-game currency through a number of in-game goals and promotions.

As of now, Pocket Planes is in its early stages of development and Nimblebit can wind up changing a number of things in the game before it’s made available. If the final product ends up as polished and fun as Tiny Tower, then you can bet we’ll have another addictive time-management game on our hands.
