It’s hard to believe it but the Amazon App Store is now celebrating its one-year birthday and you know Amazon is going all out by offering multiple free and discounted apps.
When the Amazon App Store opened a year ago, it was a neat way to get a free premium app a day. Other than that, it seemed like yet-another Android app store and it was a bit of a hassle to initially set up (I think Amazon’s first instructional video had like 9 steps).
But once the Amazon Kindle Fire was introduced, the importance of the Amazon App Store became clear, as it gave the company and the device a great pipeline of content. Amazon also said that it has seen millions of downloads in the last year and that the catalog is now filled with over 31,000 apps.
