WhitePages released a new version of its iOS app with few cool features, including Nearby People, Nearby Stores and Reverse Address features. Using your iPhone or iPad’s location, the application allows you to easily query WhitePages’ database, containing more than 200 million U.S. adults (about 90% of the population) and 30 million businesses. Of course, you can also get maps and directions, and share your findings via Facebook, Twitter, email or SMS.
That Nearby People feature is especially interesting, as it allows you to get in touch with neighbors, whether your own or those of friends and family. Apparently, most Americans don’t know the people in their neighborhood, and WhitePages can help them reach for the people living in their vicinity whether for an emergency, to meet for the first time, return a lost dog, move their car, or send an invite to a holiday party. Kinda neat idea, which we hope will be used by the folks all around the country.
Finally, WhitePages 2.0 also packs a new, cleaner and easier to use UI that makes the app look more modern. You can see how it all comes together in the following video…
