ESPN Radio revamped its iOS app, which now supports the iPad. Available as a free download, the application provides users with “personalized sports listening experience” both live and on demand (and offline), while also including a new feature that allows fans to build their own sports stations.
The basic ESPN Radio service is free to use, though there is a $4.99 fee for accessing premium features such as:
- Custom Station or Playlist – so you can create a station or playlist with your favorite shows, teams, players and sports.
- Live Audio Functionality with the ability to pause and rewind up to an hour of live audio.
- myESPN Personalization – for creating customized audio based on your favorites.
- Top Searches – that shows popular searches and trends for easy one-click access to top audio.
- Recommendation Engine – for quick access to related audio content.
- Alerts and Push Notifications used for MLB broadcasts, breaking news and more.
And before I let you go, it’s worth adding that ESPN is working on Android and Windows Phone apps, which will be released later this summer.
