Barclays announced that its Barclays PingIt mobile service is now available to corporate clients, allowing them to receive payments from their customers. On the other hand, users will get an easy way to pay their bills, as an alternative to paying by cash, cheque or bank transfer with nothing but their phone.

The corporate collections functionality has two offerings, providing businesses with an option to register for a unique Corporate ID and/or Quick Response (QR) code which is linked to a corporate current account held with Barclays. Businesses can then include their Barclays PingIt Corporate ID or QR code on statements and invoices so that their customers, Barclays PingIt users, can pay with their phones.

Moreover, businesses can register for a standard Corporate ID or a Premium Corporate ID which can be defined within certain guidelines. For example, a utility company may self-select a Corporate ID such as UKtelecom or Utilityco.

All in all, using Barclays PingIt is touted as a more efficient payment alternative for companies’ non-Direct Debit customers as well as the mean for reducing costs associated with manual and paper based processes.

The Barclays PingIt app is available for few popular platforms, including iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
