Today’s infographic visualizes the mobile landscape in Canada using the data from Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Agency and comScore. I was kinda surprised that only 74% of the country’s population own a mobile phone, which is a much lower percentage than any European country. Then again, of those who do have a mobile phone, 48% have a smartphone, 47% – data plan and 20% – a tablet.
Top smartphone uses are text messaging (93%), local search (87%), email (81%), Internet (74%), product/service research (69%) and social networking (63%). Moreover, 1 in 6 smartphone users have scanned a QR code, 70% have downloaded an app, 20% purchased something while on the go, and 25% have tried shortcode texting.
There’s even more data, but I’ll stop here, leaving you with the infographic that explains it all in a much better way…
