Verizon announced another 4G network expansion today and increased its LTE coverage to blanket 337 markets in the US. Starting July 19, the carrier will add LTE coverage to 33 new markets which includes:
- El Dorado/Magnolia and Russellville, Ark.
- New London County, Conn.
- Fort Pierce/Vero Beach and Melbourne/Titusville, Fla.
- Columbus and Rome, Ga.
- Burley, Id.
- Mattoon, Ill.
- Anderson and Muncie, Ind.
- Manhattan/Junction City and McPherson, Kan.
- Lafayette/New Iberia, La.
- St. Joseph, Mo.
- Bozeman/Livingston, Kalispell and Missoula, Mont.
- Goldsboro/Kinston, Roanoke Rapids and Rocky Mount/Wilson, N.C.
- Zanesville, Ohio
- Meadville and Punxsutawney/DuBois/Clearfield, Pa.
- Orangeburg, S.C.
- Sherman/Denison, Texas
- Cedar City and Logan, Utah
- Rutland/Bennington, Vt.
- Lynchburg and Winchester, Va.
- Bellingham, Wash.
- Beckley, W.Va.
Verizon also expanded coverage in 32 existing markets and is the leading provider of 4G LTE in the US. It eclipses AT&T, which has coverage in 47 markets, and Sprint, which just lit up its LTE in its first official 15 markets earlier this week. Verizon hopes to continue to expand its coverage to reach 400 new markets by the end of 2012.
