Review: iFit-1 Satechi Portable Smartphone Speaker

IntoMobile is taking a look at the iFit-1 Portable Rechargeable Smartphone Speaker from Satechi. The iFit-1 is a sleek, portable device that sports 6 hours worth of playback from its lithium rechargeable battery. It’s charged via a mini-usb cable included in the package that can be connected to your laptop, computer, or any USB plug.

Now when you buy an external speaker for your iPhone or other smartphone for $15.99, there are certain expectations (or lack thereof) that come with that price. But I’m here to tell you that the iFit-1 exceeds expectations. Now I know, how could something so small and so cheap be any good? One word, versatility.

I take my iFit-1 with me in my laptop bag where ever I go. If I feel like playing my music a bit louder in a room with friends or someone wants to plug in their iPod or MP3 player then the iFit-1 is the perfect tool. But it extends much farther than its advertised uses. Today a great many laptops come equipped with sub par speakers that are inadequate for watching a video or movie, or even listening to music. This problem is exacerbated when multiple people are trying to watch or listen to the same thing. So you whip out your iFit-1, plug it into a laptops headphone jack, and now you’ve got the perfect amount of volume for a few people crowding around a laptop.

The iFit-1 can get surprisingly loud before it reaches the point of distortion, making it good for watching an action movie or blaring some music. To be critical about the sound quality, depth of noise, or frequency range would be a waste of time when you’re talking about a speaker that costs $15.99. It’s well worth the money. For that price you are giving yourself a whole lot of conveniences. Most anything you can think of that you would want to make louder, if it has an AUX output or a 3.5mm headphone jack, then you’re in business.

Weighing in a 1.6 oz. the iFit-1 can go anywhere with you and doesn’t hold you back. Its portability just can’t be beat. This is the perfect gadget to have in a backpack, laptop bag, purse, or just in your hand. The iFit is compatible with the iPhone 4/4S and will be compatible with the iPhone 5 assuming Apple doesn’t reinvent the headphone jack over night. It also works with all iPods and other smartphones and music players.

If you would benefit from an extremely portable, ultra affordable, sleek looking, endlessly useful product, then look no further. Check out the i-Fit 1 now!
