AOL and Nokia have partnered to build a new application for Lumia devices that promises to be your one-stop-shop for entertainment news on the go. The application brings celebrity news/gossip, news about TV shows and movies, free online music streaming, and movie trailers to Windows Phone. In addition, the application features augmented reality enhancements, allowing users of the application to find theaters and showtimes using the Lumia’s camera. Showtimes, movie posters, and theater info appear on the Lumia’s display as you pan around with your Lumia device.
Sure, augmented reality features are gimmicky, and you’ll look a bit odd panning your phone around looking for which movie you’d like to attend, but the addition gives users on the go a quick and easy way to access information. The inclusion of news, reviews, movie trailers, and free music streaming of over 50,000 stations via SHOUTcast radio make this a fairly impressive application for Windows Phone users, and we encourage anyone with a Lumia device to download Entrance by Aol to check it out for yourself
The app will launch this morning for free on the Windows Phone Marketplace. If you do download the application, be sure to stop back and let us know how you’re liking (or not liking) it.
