HTC CEO says this year will be better for the company

HTC has seen better days with Samsung pretty much eating its launch. It used to be that the Taiwanese company was at the forefront of smartphone innovation but now that title goes to the Korean giant. So what can HTC do about it?

In an interview to The Wall Street Journal, the company’s CEO Peter Chou said they’ll be putting more emphasis on marketing, adding that “the worst for HTC has probably passed.” Yup, he’s looking for a brighter year and from what we know, there’s room for optimism. HTC was the first handset maker to launch a 5-inch full HD smartphone and that was just a start with their next product sporting a smaller display with same resolution (1920×1080 pixels). Then again, many other players are working on similar products so we’ll have to wait and see whether customers are once again willing to trust HTC over Samsung, Sony, Oppo, Huawei and ZTE…
