Sony C5303 HuaShan leaked – Midrange Xperia Z handset on its way?

While we’ve already had the chance of playing around with Sony’s latest flagship handsets, it doesn’t look like the company will be stopping there. What you see above is the Sony C5303 HuaShan, which looks to be a mid-range Xperia Z variant.

The HuaShan isn’t going to knock your socks off in terms of specifications, but it isn’t supposed to. The device keeps up with the same design aesthetic found on the Z and the ZL, making it pretty darn easy on the eyes. Specifications are rather few and far between, but the 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960T likely means that it’s headed to China. Other countries could see a forthcoming variant of the device, but that still remains to be seen. It also looks like we’ll see an HD display, and we’d imagine that the camera will range in the 5 or 8 megapixel area, and likely not the 13 megapixel shooter on the Z and ZL. Of course, with nothing solid to go on, it’s all speculation right now.

Like its bigger, more powerful brothers, the HuaShan will also ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, giving you one of the latest versions of the mobile operating system. With all of the issues found on Android 4.2 so far, we can’t be terribly upset that the device isn’t on the latest version of the OS.

Expected to be announced at Mobile World Congress next month, the HuaShan’s specs, availability, and real name should all be revealed.
