A few days before the big show starts at Barcelona, Acer announced two new smartphones — Liquid Z2 and Liquid E1 — both of which will be available in single and dual-SIM versions.
According to Acer, these two are made for “feature phone upgraders” and in that sense we shouldn’t expect the high-end specs. The E1 model (pictured above), which we’ve seen leaked a month ago, comes with a 4.5-inch qHD screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera on the back, DTS sound and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. On the other hand, the Z2 is an entry-level smartphone with a smallish (by today’s standards) 3.5-inch HVGA screen, though it keeps the 1GHz dual-core processor. In addition, both phones will also be sold with access to AcerCloud, the company’s cloud-based file sharing service.
When it comes to availability, the Acer Liquid Z2 and E1 will first start selling in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ukraine; followed by Russia, UK and Italy. Unfortunately, prices were not mentioned in the press release…
