When we first saw the Sony Xperia Z it was shown off by the Japanese manufacturer at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Sony showed all of its upcoming Xperia devices, including the Z and ZL. The Xperia Z is an awesome phone. During our hands-on with the device, we were easily impressed with how it felt in the hand. We also had great praise for the glass front and back covers. Plus, the phone is spill resistant.
The Sony Xperia Z is an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based dust-proof and water-resistant smartphone with a 5-inch full HD screen, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera and 16GB of internal memory.
Unfortunately, the Xperia Z is in Europe only, and a U.S time frame at the moment is unknown. Well, until now.
GSM Nation is the only retailer who has the device available now. People can grab the unlocked handset at the same price its being sold overseas at $849. It’s a lot of money on the surface, but it sure beats the hell out of going the subsidized route that’ll have you locked into a two-year contract.
Is anyone digging the Sony Xperia Z? If not, what phone are you eyeing?
