TripAdvisor scored a preload deal with Samsung for Galaxy S4. The world’s largest travel site won’t only have its app pre-installed on Sammy’s super-phone, but its content will find ways to few widgets and other parts of the TouchWIZ UI. Here’s what the upcoming Galaxy S4 owners will get thanks to this partnership:
- Travel Widget – includes TripAdvisor images of popular travel destinations and attractions around the world. Users can touch the on-screen star icon to save places to their “Saves” list on TripAdvisor, or tap the image to see details in the TripAdvisor app, which include reviews, opinions, photos and contact information.
- Lock Screen Slideshow – so you can see some awesome photos while your phone is locked.
- City Information in Samsung Story Album – allows you to add “more enriched city information” into the Story Album.
In addition, this special version of the TripAdvisor application also comes with support for Single Sign-On with a Samsung ID, has the ability to load details of hotels and flights into the phone’s native calendar app, and can quickly add contact information for a hotel or attraction to the phone’s Contacts list.
In other words, this is something frequent travelers will appreciate… a lot.
