Sony announced Xperia ZQ in Brazil, which is actually a “local” version of the Xperia ZL. As far as I’ve understood, there are no any significant differences between this and the original Xperia ZL, so why the name change was needed is beyond me. Perhaps people in Brazil associate “ZL” with something negative, perhaps not.
In any case, the Xperia ZQ/ZL will be available in Brazil starting April 22nd when interested users will be able to get it for R$2,049, the amount that translates into roughly $1,031. That’s super steep and honestly, I’m not sure anyone will buy the phone for that much money. The price must go down if Sony hopes to move a single unit in the country.
Again, the Xperia ZQ/ZL comes with a 5-inch full HD touchscreen, 13-megapixel camera with Exmor RS lens, LTE connectivity support (sings along LTE bands 1, 2, 4, 5 and 17), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, memory card slot, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show with Sony’s own UI singing on top.
