HTC announced a new smartphone in its own backyard – Desire L. This mid-ranger won’t impress many with its specs sheet, and as I’m writing this we’ve no idea whether it will be available in the West or not. Price wasn’t unveiled, either. Here’s what we know…

The HTC Desire L comes with a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 screen with WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution, 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, 1GB of RAM, Beats Audio, 1800mAh battery, 4GB of internal memory and a microSD expansion slot. Android Jelly Bean (most likely version 4.1.2) is running the show with HTC’s own Sense UI singing on top. Size wise, it measures 128×66.9×8.9 mm and has a weight of 118 grams.

As I said, this isn’t a phone anyone will go crazy about, but if priced correctly – it could help the Taiwanese company get back a piece of the market (which it has been steadily losing to Samsung and Chinese vendors).
