Sonic Lost Worlds Trailer Released

Sega and Nintendo’s recently announced collaboration, Sonic Lost Worlds, finally has a trailer out. It’s mostly gameplay footage, and it looks great! The speed is there and the physics look right (unlike the disappointing Sonic 4). There’s a new wall running move which is… whatever. I don’t care, as long as it’s fast, and Lost Worlds looks like it delivers in this department in a major way. But there is one interesting twist:

Someone got their Super Mario Galaxy in my Sonic the Hedgehog!

Judging from the trailer, Sonic’s latest adventure has borrowed liberally from the (excellent) Mario series. It sports similar stages composed of rotating spheres, cylinders, and sideways platforming. But it still looks like a Sonic game, with the speedy hedgehog’s classic running and jumping, high speed platforming gameplay front and center. I have high hopes for this Wii U and 3DS exclusive.
