The Android powered gaming console Ouya has officially launched today, and is already selling like hotcakes. The $99 gaming console has already sold out on Amazon in the U.S. and the U.K., with units still available for purchase through GameStop, Best Buy, Target and the Ouya website.
The Ouya console is offering free demos of their 173 games, which include titles from Sega, Double Fine, Airtight Games, Polygon and Square Enix. The console ships with a wireless controller, a HDMI cable and a power adapter.
The Ouya is the first in many Android micro-consoles that are to launch this year, with Mad Catz’s M.O.J.O, PlayJam’s Gamestick and Bluestack’s GamePop expected to arrive soon. Ouya is kicking off the Android micro-console wars, and its already off to a great start.
