The gold controller,will be available in the U.S. exclusively at Microsoft Stores and GameStop this August. It will be available in “select regions” outside of the U.S. but no more info was given at this time.
This golden bauble is the latest addition to Microsoft’s “Chrome Series” of shiny, metallic Xbox 360 controllers. They debuted last spring with red, blue and silver controllers. Aside from the sundrop brilliance of the controller, it will include the improved transforming D pad. If you play any type of side scrollers or 2D fighter, the new D pad is a considerable improvement over the standard controller’s much lamented D pad.
