Nokia launches trade-up program in the U.S. to drive sales of Lumia smartphones

In order get its Lumia smartphones to the hands of more users, Nokia is launching a trade-up program in the U.S. Under the deal, users are able to get up to $300 for their old phone towards buying a new Nokia device like the Lumia 925 or Lumia 928.

The process is pretty seamless – send Nokia your old phone with proof of purchase for a new Nokia Lumia, and you’ll get a prepaid card worth the value of your old phone.

There is a catch, however. You see, Nokia thinks your old phone isn’t worth as much. For instance, they’ll give you up to $250 for the iPhone 4S, $210 for Samsung Galaxy SIII or $250 for the HTC One. So we’re wondering – which phone they think is worth $300? I would assume that would be Galaxy S4 and you can get much more money by selling it yourself. Heck you should be able to get more cash by listing the HTC One on eBay. Yeah, it’s kinda stupid.

Anyway, if this doesn’t stop you — or you have some other phone you want to trade-in for a new Nokia Lumia — proceed to this page for all additional information.
