HP’s Slate 7 Android tablet has gone down $30, to $140.
The Slate 7 sports a 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 dual-core processor, Android 4.1 software a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. There’s also a 16GB model which now sells for $170.
The price drop makes the HP Slate 7 more competitive with the $199 Google Nexus 7 (which has a higher resolution display and faster processor) and Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD, going for $169 and up. Barnes & Noble NOOK HD is still slightly cheaper at $129.
