A phone insurance company created a dedicated “mobile graveyard” website for the public to honor their old handsets and how they met their bitter end. The site also highlights various facts about mobile phone loss, theft and breakages, and includes a counter representing the estimated total cost of mobile phone replacements in the UK in 2013.
Some of the “coolest” gravestones include:
- Here lies a Nokia 3210, which lost its life being thrown from the window of a 1997 Nissan Micra.
- Here lies a iPhone 3G which lost its life being dropped into a bowl of milk after the user consumed all his Lucky Charms. Safe to say its luck ran out.
Plus, let’s not forget a Samsung Galaxy S II that toppled over the railings during a Caribbean cruise and a Nokia Lumia 900 that was thrown during a lovers’ tiff.
According to the phone insurance company’s Jason Brockman, the site was created for people to “pay their respects to the phones of yesteryear and the present day; whether they met their bitter end by falling into a toilet or by being run over by a lorry. Every handset deserves to have its resting place and now there is one.”
Pretty sweet, don’t you think?
