The ZTE U988s has been officially unveiled today, becoming the world’s first Tegra 4 powered smartphone. Unlike its brethren the ZTE Geek, which touts an Intel Atom processor, the ZTE Geek U988s will have a Tegra 4 architecture, with a processor running at 1.8GHz.

The ZTE U998s will be available in China on China Mobile in different color schemes, with the red version making its rounds in pictures. The device will pack a 5 inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 screen, 2GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing shooter and a microSD slot for memory expansion. The Tegra 4 powered beast will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Still no word on the release date of this device, and it appears to only be available in China for the time being. Hopefully we’ll see this smartphone come to the U.S. sometime in the future.
