HTC has officially announced the Desire 500, its latest smartphone that fits into the low-to-mid end bracket. Specs wise, this model comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor which is also found inside its bigger brother, Desire 600. In addition, there’s a so-last-year 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 8-megapixel rear and 1.6-megapixel front cameras, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi and 4GB of expandable storage. There are no front stereo speakers though you’ll find HTC’s latest version of Sense UI along with BlinkFeed and Video Highlights.
The HTC Desire 500 is at the moment slated to hit Taiwan only, and honestly – we can’t say we’re sorry for not being able to get it. We’ll have the One Mini if we ever consider getting something smaller.
As for the price, HTC’s smartphone will go for NT$11,900 (about $400) and initially be available through Taiwan Mobile.
