An Australian woman was duped by a fraudster who sold her two iPhones that were actually real apples. In the case reported by the Herald Sun, a 21-year-old woman posted an ad to online classifieds service Gumtree that said she wanted to buy two iPhones. She promptly received a response from another lady who said she had two phones to sell for $1500.
The two ladies met in the parking lot of a local McDonald’s where the money and phones exchanged hands. The buyer parted ways with the seller and went home to open her goods. She made the costly mistake of accepting the boxes without looking inside first and was undoubtedly shocked when she discovered she just spent over a grand on two apples of the fruit variety, not those of the iPhone flavor.
