This is still unofficial but we tend to believe there’s some merit in this rumor (if it’s rumor at all). You see, the still unannounced BlackBerry Z30 (which we used to know as A10) will not only have a big, 5-inch screen, but also Qi-based wireless charging capability.

The information comes from the Wireless Power Consortium which already lists the upcoming smartphone on its site as one of the Qi supported phones. Other devices on the list include smartphones made by the likes of HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung and Sony.

If you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that wireless charging is actually cool as it sounds, requiring no cables between your phone and the charging station to add juice to your phone’s battery. Best of all, these charging stations tend to be found at major airports, hotels, select cafes and railway stations, making it easy to recharge while on the go. Moreover, some car makers will start including these chargers into their vehicles… And yes, we’re glad to see BlackBerry joining this trend. 😉
