Folks who subscribe to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold service (which is pretty much anyone who plays online) can download Dead Rising 2 free of charge until the end of the month. You can also grab the game’s “Case Zero” DLC for free during this promotion. So, get ready to bash some zombie skulls!
Microsoft announced the “Games with Gold” program at this year’s E3, and has since released a steady stream of AAA (if a little old) titles free to download. Xbox Live Gold subscribers will get 2 free games each month (similar to Playstation Plus’ giveaways). For the second half of August, it’s Dead Rising 2.

Dead Rising 2 puts you in a world overrun with the undead. You’ll need your wits and your skill at crafting bizarre weaponry to service.. It’s a big download, at over 6 gigs but that gets you the entire epic game. The Case Zero DLC must be downloaded separately.
