ASUS wants to update its still awesome though not widely available PadFone Infinity. The Taiwanese company is looking to replace the built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip with a faster Snapdragon 800, which is used in the hot-new LG G2, and which will likely power-up many of the superphones and phablets that will be announced by the end of the year.

The upcoming device, marked as A86 — whereas the original PadFone Infinity is A80 — will also sport a microSD card slot. We still hope that a keyboard dock is part of ASUS’ plans, but the leaked photos presented at the ePrice’s website don’t say anything about the tablet shell. In fact, it’s likely the tablet shell won’t be changed. The mentioned site also suggests that ASUS could start selling the new PadFone Infinity in September. That, of course, is the time when interested users in Taiwan will be able to get it and we’re not sure when this device will hit the Western markets. We hope for the short wait. And for that keyboard dock…
