New HTC UI caught in the wild

New HTC UI caught in the wild

Looks like HTC is working on an update to its Sense UI for the Chinese market. Heck, it could be a whole custom version of Android specially made for China, something we’ve already seen from few local companies like Meizu and Xiaomi.

The image above appeared on Chinese social network Weibo, showing either the HTC Butterfly or Butterfly S running a BlinkFeed-like home screen with few changes. These changes include widgets for email and music, as well as new icons we haven’t seen before on HTC’s handsets.

We do realize China is an important market for every OEM, HTC included, and we’re not surprised to see a special version of the Sense UI optimized just for Chinese users. However, we do think that HTC may use some of these icons and widgets for its future updates to Sense UI that’s available all across the globe. We’ll keep our eye on this and let you know as soon as we have something new to add. Stay tuned…
