Forget about “champagne gold”, there’s a HTC One t in the UK that’s molded from the real deal. Sporting a case of 18 carat shimmering gold, this limited edition HTC One is valued at  £2,750, or $4,422 American. There are only 5 of the exclusive gold HTC Ones in existence, and they’ll be given as awards at the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) fest in Glasgow.

MOBO festival founder Kanya King enthused about the exclusive phones in a statement: “MOBO turning 18 is a huge achievement and a special time for us. The 18ct Gold HTC One phone is a great addition to our coming of age celebrations and helps add MOBO glitz to proceedings!”

The Music of Black Origin awards celebrate artists of any ethnicity who play black music. It was established in 1996 by Kanya King and Andy Ruffell. The annual ceremony has been held Glasgow, Scotland since 2009 and happened in London before that.

Phil Blair, president of HTC Europe, Middle East, and Africa, gave a statement as well:

“The best artists have always been given gold discs to celebrate their success, but today most people listen to music on their phone. We wanted to celebrate that fact. “The award-winning HTC One is the gold standard in mobile design and innovation, so it was an obvious choice to make it even more special.”

This gold HTC One is beautiful, but only a select few artists will get one. Until then, you and Goldmember will just have to wait!
