Google To Offer New Wireless Charger For Nexus 5 And Nexus 7

Google didn’t just introduce new bumper cases and Quickcovers for the Nexus 5, as the handset is soon set to receive a new Qi wireless charging pad in the as well.

The new wireless charging pad supports both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 officially, but should work with any Qi wireless charging supported device as well. The charger’s design has also been tweaked from last year’s, showing off a square design that lays flat instead of an angle. The charger also ships with built-in magnets to prevent your device from slipping off, but that’s only if your device has the magnets inside as well.

The new wireless charging pad is said to land in the Google Play Store sometime today, but pricing is still unknown at the moment.

One should also keep in mind that there are plenty of Qi wireless chargers available, and many are rather affordable. If you don’t mind spending over $50 for wireless charging like last year’s model, then we’d suggest you look into TYLT’s Vu. That said, if you’re a sucker for official accessories, then you shouldn’t have to wait too long until you can grab the new Nexus charger.
