King proved it could effectively bring a Facebook game to mobile with its wildly successful Candy Crush Saga. Now another Saga from King is making the leap to a smart phone near you! Papa Pear Saga aims to repeat Candy Crush’s success and it’s out for Android and iOS now!

Perhaps in an effort to combat childhood obesity, Papa Pear Saga opts for healthy fruit instead of candy. The gameplay is somewhat similar to PopCap’s Peggle. You drop your Papa Pear from the top and he bounces his way down the screen happily colliding with acorns, fruit, destructible boundaries made of carrots, and whole host of obstacles, power ups, and the like. Eventually you’ll complete the level by getting Papa Pear into each of the buckets, who beckon you from the bottom of the screen.

Papa Pear Saga on Facebook now boasts over 4 million daily players, and that alone is something to be proud of. The mobile version will launch with 120 levels and it will be fully integrated with Facebook, allowing players to switch back and forth between platforms. Check out the press release below for more information!

Android users can grab Papa Pear Saga at the Google Play Store. iPad and iPhone gamers can get it from the App Store. For more information, King’s press release follows below:

Bounce your way to victory with Papa Pear Saga on mobile – the latest cross-platform game from the makers of Candy Crush Saga

King’s super wacky puzzler launches on iOS and Android

28 November 2013, London & New York: Ready, steady, bounce! King, the world’s leading casual games company and creator of the critically-acclaimed Candy Crush Saga, has announced that its hugely popular Facebook game Papa Pear Saga is now available on iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) and Android devices.

Papa Pear Saga, the next game in a series of hits from King, is free-to-play and launches on mobile with 120 exciting levels across eight episodes. The mobile version of the game seamlessly synchronizes with Facebook so players can progress, unlock new levels and access leaderboards across multiple platforms. And, like all King games, it’s perfectly ‘snackable’ so can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere.

So, crash-helmets on, goggles at the ready, and prepare to be transported to a wonderfully wacky world of fruity pegs, acorns and crazy chilies! Papa Pear Saga challenges players to skillfully fire Papa Pear shots into a selection of barrels, while evading a tricky maze of obstacles. Making each Papa Pear shot count is vital as players are challenged to hit as many objects as they can throughout the course of each level to generate further points within the game.

“Papa Pear Saga has been phenomenally successful on Facebook where it is currently played by nearly 15 million people each month (AppData Nov 13),” says Tommy Palm, Games Guru at King. “It’s a game that’s instantly playable and, like everything we do, has been designed to bring a smile to people’s faces. Candy Crush Saga may continue to be one of the most successful games on mobile platforms, however we’re keen to offer our players even more ways to have fun on their mobiles and we can’t wait to see the reaction to Papa Pear Saga.”

Papa Pear saga is available to download for free now on iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) and on Google Play for Android.
