The hot-new Xiaomi Mi3 may be cool for many but not everyone can afford the Snapdragon 800-powered version of the device. For those customer, the Chinese company offers its lower-end Hongmi smartphone, which delivers an awesome value for the money.
However, there’s also a subset of users who want something in between; A device that is almost-as-powerful as Mi3 but doesn’t come with a steep price tag. And Xiaomi don’t want to leave these folks behind.
According to GizChina, the company is working on a Lite or “youth” version of its flagship device that will rock Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 chip (rather than Snapdragon 800). This is the same processor used in Samsung Galaxy S4 (most versions, at least) and HTC One. As such, this youth Mi3 it should come with “more than decent” performance and an accordingly more affordable price tag.
As that’s usually the case with rumors, we’ll have to wait and see what comes from this. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
