Square made its new and improved card reader official today. Now business users can expect a reader with a new design that’s thinner and more accurate when it comes to swiping transactions. The new reader is much thinner than its predecessor, so much so that it’s 45 percent thinner than its older brethren. Square’s reader will now share the same thickness to that of Apple’s iPhone 5S.
In addition to the cosmetic changes, the new Square reader will be compatible with more smartphones and tablets due to improvements to the audio plug connection.
