After the iPhone 5s was launched, everyone and their mama started talking about fingerprint sensors. LG doesn’t want to be left out from this game and is apparently looking to include that capability in its forthcoming G3 flagship, which will launch at some point next year.

According to Korea Herald, the company is in the midst of testing its swipe-based fingerprint sensor, which is different than the one used by Apple but very similar to those found in many of today’s laptops.

Somehow we think the G3 will ship with this capability as it needs all the checkmarks it can get in any specs comparison charts that will undoubtedly popup all around the Interwebs the second the G3 launches.

Meanwhile, we’re hearing that LG’s 2014 flagship will also comes with a 2K screen, 16-megapixel camera on the back, and an octa-core processor.
