Samsung Galaxy S4 owners will soon get the Android 4.4 KitKat update. The ever-savvy folks of SamMobile managed to get the test firmware which seems almost ready for the prime time. According to them, the firmware version I9505XXUFNA1 does have a few minor hiccups which are expected in pretty much any test build.
When it comes to noticeable changes, there are fancy white status bar icons that look rather stunning on top of the transparent status bar. In addition, SamMobile also noticed a little bump in performance, and benchmark scores have slightly increased as well. Samsung’s keyboard layout has been improved in landscape orientation, making typing much easier. Finally, a camera shortcut is now available direct from the lockscreen.
All said, we expect to see Samsung starting to roll out this firmware in the next few weeks or days.
