Sony wants you to take serious photos with your tablet

Sony wants you to take serious photos with your tablet

See that image above? Yes, that’s Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z with the company’s DSC-QX10 or DSC-QX100 lens-style camera attached to it, allowing you to take some serious photos. The question whether a sane person would ever use his/her tablet in this setup isn’t something Sony’s bothering with – they want to sell you the tablet attachment plus the camera, no matter what.

The tablet attachment alone costs $36 and at the moment, its availability is limited to Japan. Perhaps users living in the Far East dig the idea of taking photos with a tablet; cause as far as I (don’t) know – this doesn’t seem natural. In fact, it looks plain weird, to say the least.

Just imagine yourself visiting some tourist destination and taking photos with your tablet… that has a huge camera lens attached to it. You would “earn” the spotlight, that’s for sure, and… little else. Perhaps you even score a discount for “specific medical treatments,” if you know what I mean. Yeah, it’s that weird and we don’t like it at all…
